Social Benefit Bonds Pilot Program
- Newpin Queensland SBB – to safely reunify children in out-of-home care with their families, with a focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
- YouthChoices SBB – to reduce the frequency and severity of offending behaviour of young people who are at risk of detention or remand.
- Youth CONNECT SBB – to develop the resilience of young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Six years on, the Youth CONNECT SBB has completed its service delivery and will run through to operational completion. Both the Newpin Queensland SBB and YouthChoices SBB have been closed.
As part of the Queensland Government’s Social Benefit Bonds (SBB) Pilot Program, three pilot SBBs were contracted in 2017.
Newpin Queensland SBB
The Newpin Queensland SBB aims to safely reunify children in out-of-home care with their families, with a focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
YouthChoices SBB
The YouthChoices SBB aims to reduce the frequency and severity of offending behaviour of young people who are at risk of detention or remand.
Youth CONNECT SBB
The Youth CONNECT SBB aims to develop the resilience of young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
The three pilot SBBs are supported by upfront capital from private investors. The Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women, and the Department of Housing and Public Works are the responsible contract-managing agencies.
