Suntory Oceania

International beverage manufacturer Suntory Oceania is establishing a new +$400 million beverage manufacturing facility in Swanbank with support from the Queensland Government.

Suntory Oceania commenced commissioning the facility in September 2024 and full operations are expected from mid-2025. As Australia’s energy drink market leader with V Energy, it was fitting the beverage was the first product off the line at the plant in Ipswich.

The 17-hectare facility will be the manufacturing and distribution hub for the company’s multi-beverage portfolio of over 40 brands. The greenfield development will strengthen Suntory Oceania’s ability to service its customers and the growing Australian market. Once fully operational, the facility will have the immediate capability to produce up to 20 million cases of drinks each year and can be significantly scaled up in the future.

The facility boasts strong sustainability credentials with a combination of renewable energy sources via 14 kilometres of solar panels and a power-purchase agreement with Queensland electricity provider, CleanCo. Other features include sustainable heating and cooling technology, onsite waste management and water recycling facilities.
