Ashurst

In 2019, global law firm Ashurst chose Queensland over competing locations across Australia and Asia to set up its new shared services centre. The centre is set to create 150 high-value jobs in Queensland over the first 5 years of operation.

The project builds on Ashurst’s successful establishment of a similar innovative business and legal services office in Glasgow, which created over 300 new roles.

The Brisbane-based Global Delivery Centre focuses on efficient legal service delivery through increased use of legal technology such as artificial intelligence and automation. This includes Ashurst Advance, a full service NewLaw offering delivering innovative and holistic legal and business solutions. The office features smart technology and environmentally sustainable design features.

The new office has enabled Ashurst to expand its teams of legal technologists, legal analysts and AI capabilities, as well as adding highly skilled and high value roles within the Ashurst Advance team.

Hear from Samantha Banfield, Head of Ashurst Service Centre in Brisbane on why the company chose Queensland to invest and grow its business.
