Beenleigh Steel Fabrications’ (BSF) new $12 million facility at Berrinba is now open thanks to funding support from the Queensland Government.
BSF steel is at the core of major developments such as the Cairns Convention Centre and Cross River Rail, as well as legendary structures including the Gabba and North Queensland Stadium. With current projects including Queens Wharf Brisbane and the new Kangaroo Point Green Bridge, their structural steel is helping build Queensland’s future.
Originally valued at $4.2 million, Beenleigh Steel has invested many more millions into the facility, and subsequently into the economy, to ensure the facility has everything they need to keep growing for the next 40 years.
Having a modern, fit-for-purpose facility that has doubled its floor space and production capacity will allow Beenleigh Steel to supply into even more of Queensland’s most iconic infrastructure projects and create more jobs for the Logan region.
The new jobs include the creation of at least 59 positions including up to 8 apprentices and trainees each year in boilermaking, rigging, dogging, machine operation and computer skills.
Director Anthony Stoeckert tells us how the new facility has benefited Beenleigh Steel’s business.
